This summer the Times-Record is encouraging area youth to express their creativity in a couple different ways.

First, throughout the summer months, the T-R will be publishing a Kids’ Corner page inside our daily paper that features the writings and drawings of area youth. The first Kids’ Corner published on Thursday, June 7 with poetry and short stories. Another one is coming soon.

Kid’s Corner is open to any youth under age 18. We will consider publishing their poetry, short stories or even news stories. We would also consider photos or their own graphic stories.

The second opportunity for creative young minds is through the Times-Record’s Kid’s Photo Contest.

This contest is open to children age six through 12. Voting will be done exclusively on Facebook based on “Likes” and the winners will be announced in the Friday, June 29 edition of the Times-Record. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place photos.

Photos must be taken by the child.

Email submissions for either opportunity to treditor@times-online.com. Call 701-845-0463 for questions.
