The upcoming Public Transit Fundraiser has a special and unique performer. The community is invited to the Valley City Eagles Club on Saturday, November 17th at 5 p.m. for an Elvis-themed performance by Rick Senger, starring as Elvis himself.
The event will begin with a spaghetti supper from 5-7 p.m., with the Elvis show to follow directly after, and then a dance to wrap up a whole evening of entertainment and fun.
Senger (Elvis) has quite a reputation for posing as Elvis and other musical legends.
Coordinator from the Senior Center, Pat Hansen, spoke very highly of Senger's performance. "I almost prefer him to the real thing," Hansen said. "You can't really tell him from the original. He's a really great performer. The first time I saw him was at a Transit event out in Dickinson. He's entertained in places like Arizona, he's also done some karaoke contests and cruise ships, among many other things. He's been different people from different eras."
Hansen said that Senger's wife is the director of the Dakota Transit Association, a very fitting reason for Senger to help out and perform as much as he does. "It's nice to have community support for our Transit System, because it pretty much helps every segment of the population," Hansen said. "It should be a very fun night so I hope a lot of people can make it." The event is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken for the meal and entertainment and all proceeds of the event will go directly towards our community's Public Transit.
