Coming June 14, Valley City will be hosting the summer's first cruise from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Central Avenue. This local event allows citizens to show off the vehicles they are proud to own. A lot of people are passionate about this event, especially the man putting all of this together, Rad Nicholson. Nicholson has always taken pride in being a Valley City citizen and was happy to share his thoughts on both the community and the upcoming event.

"We started this to help the down-town businesses. There was a dead area between the Chamber of Commerce and the Rally in the Valley. There would be the Crazy Daze and then really nothing. Then I talked to the car club and asked 'What if we did a cruise on the Thursday opposite of Fargo, Mandan, and Bismarck?' And they said 'Great, let's try it!' The first year we did it, it was successful. Last year we did it, it was successful. But what changed last year was that most of the trophies went to local people and we had huge numbers of out-of-town people, which was the whole purpose of the cruise. To get people from Fargo, from Bismarck, from Jamestown, and they came from Carrington, they came from Casselton, Oakes, Litchville, we had cars from all over! I'm pretty sure we gave 17 trophies out and three of them went locally. So, we're getting more and more response to this. We're going to see more and more new models, new vehicles, we're going to try to come up with another trophy for things in the construction process. We have a lot of cool, exciting things happening."
