Barnes County On the Move is offering a free exercise class for cancer survivors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valley City Parks and Rec Fitness Center. Participants are encouraged to bring a support person. To register, call Young People's Healthy Heart Program at CHI Mercy Health at 701-845-6456.

Wednesday, December 9
The ninth annual "Sounds of the Season" brown bagger series will be held from 12:10 to 12:55 p.m. in the sanctuary of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 138 Third Street Northwest, Valley City. Carole Flatau will be the featured performer.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m., and story hour with Dale Hokissen will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday, December 10
Washington Elementary School fifth-graders present "The North Pole Radio Hour" program based on a 1946 radio studio at the North Pole at 2 and 7 p.m. in the gymnasium.

The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Season 18 Presents: Merry Helm: “Revealing the Hidden Heroes of the Korean War” at 7 p.m. at the Barnes County Museum. All Lectures are at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum and held in conjunction with Valley City State University. They are free and open to the public.

Friday, December 11
Rep. Kevin Cramer will have a mobile office at the Valley City-Barnes County Public Library from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, December 12
Santa Day will be held at Dakota Plains in Valley City from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The third annual Kathryn Christmas Dinner Show will be held at the Prairie Waters Facility (Kathryn School) at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Kathryn Booster Club, features the Maasjo Sisters and Wayne Strander. Enderlin's ChristkindlFest Santa Day will be held at noon in the City Auditorium followed by a Clio Holiday Tour of Homes from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13.
