Ellen Ann Sorenson, 98, Oakes, ND, died at the Good Samaritan Society in Oakes on October 20, 2014. She was born to Mathias and Amelia Lindner on May 21, 1916 in Frazee, MN. She attended school in Frazee and later in life; she went to Dakota Business School in Fargo, ND.

Joseph John O’Brien, age 88, of Valley city, ND died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, October 24th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be from 5PM until 7 PM Thursday at St. Catherine’s Church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

October 28, 1926 – August 11, 2014
Robert “Bob” Spiker was born in Valley City, North Dakota, to Ed and Annie (Knudson) Spiker. He married Lucille Ussatis in 1947. They were married 67 years.
The family moved to Westmont, Illinois in 1957, where he worked as a long haul truck driver for Consolidated Frieghtways.
He raised pheasants, pigeons, and ducks, and also liked gardening.

Marvin Stanton Alberts, 89, passed away on September 25, 2014 in Smithville, Texas.
Marvin was born in Fargo, North Dakota on March 14, 1925 to George and Josephine (Rock) Alberts. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his wife, Janet (Carico)Alberts.
Marvin is survived by his two children: Son, Jeff Alberts; Daughter, Stacy Watne and his son-n-law, Doug Watne. Grandchildren: Chris Watne, Jessica Taylor and husband, Clint Taylor, Steven Alberts and Melissa Alberts. Great-Grandchildren: Alexis Mae Watne, Matthew Taylor, Brody Taylor and Kaylee Taylor.
