Viking Campus Activity Board at Valley City State University is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in the Skoal Room of the Student Center. Each participant will receive a free movie pass and an entry into a trip for two to Hawaii. City County Health District is holding a free car seat check from 3-6 p.m. in the west Essentia Health parking lot, across from the Valley City Children's Center.

A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot from 4-6 p.m.

Barnes County Commission will meet in the commission chambers of the Barnes County Courthouse at 8 a.m.

A ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off Marketplace Foods' grand re-opening will be held at 10 a.m.

The Valley City City Commission meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Thursday, September 3
American Legion will hold its first meeting of the fall season at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend this important meeting.

Dazey Sodbusters Club will hold its 12th annual bullorama at 3 p.m. in Sibley. A calcutta auction begins at 2 p.m. Other events include a kids tractor pedal pull, raffle drawing at 8 p.m. and a dance to Thunder Ridge from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The 2015 Outstanding Sodbuster of the Year Award will be presented to Greg Mueller at 7 p.m.

A bean and burger bonanza will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Kathryn Hall in Kathryn. The meal features grilled burgers, beans, potato salad and cookie salad.
