Monday, August 3
A “Welcome Home” party for Adam Maresh will be held at the Work Activities center (located south of Pizza Corner) at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and help him celebrate his great success of earning three gold medals at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.

A farmers market will be held in the Rosebud Visitors Center parking lot from 4-6 p.m.

Tuesday, August 4
The Barnes County Commission meets in the commission chambers at the Barnes County Courthouse at 8 a.m.

The Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will show "The LEGO Movie" at 2 p.m.

The Valley City City Commission meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Wednesday, August 5
ADAPT from Valley City will perform at the City Park Bandshell at 7:15 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Vault on Central Avenue.

Thursday, August 6
A farmers market will be held in the Shopko parking lot in Valley City from 4-6 p.m.

First Community Credit Union Pee Wee's Safari Party will be held in the City Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All are invited to join the picnic in the park with food and games.

A meeting for all parents and athletes in fall sports in grades 7-12 at Valley City Public Schools will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hi-Liner Activity Center. Following the general meeting will be team meetings.

Friday, August 7
The Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will show "Insurgent" for teens at 2 p.m.

Saturday, August 8
The Valley City Bluegrass Jam Session will be held from 1-5 p.m. at the Barnes County Historical Museum. The acoustic-only jam is free and open to the public. For more information, contact John Andrus at (701) 762-4891.
